Hingham's 4th of July celebration is one of our town's most cherished traditions. It's our patriotic prelude to the summer season, a festival of Americana where family and friends gather with fanfare. From the vibrant fireworks over the harbor to the spirited cheers along the road race and grand parade where historic Main Street is decked in red, white and blue, Hingham's 4th of July celebration continues to grow year and year.
July 4th, 2017 marks the 59th continuous running of the Hingham Road Race. One of the region's oldest footraces, this premier event starts our Independence Day celebration, and is one of the town's richest traditions.
The 2017 4th of July Parade Theme is "Star Spangled Salute" as selected by the Parade Committee. After many creative designs, the Committee chose a drawing by Amelia-Rae Creed.who depicted a scene from the parade, including our patriotic red, white, and blue lines, as her subject in a wonderful design that is already selling quickly around Hingham
