April 10, 2012 Meeting Minutes
GAR Hall
Present: Committee Members Asher, Johnson, MacCune, Innis, Marwill, Pyles, Sharkansky, Taylor, Power, Kutsch, Friedman, MacKay, Eldredge, Farrell
1. Call to Order
Chairman Jon Asher called the Advisory Committee meeting to order at 7:36 PM.
2. GAR Orientation
The meeting was held at GAR Hall at the invitation of the trustees. Keith Jermyn, Veterans' Services Officer, together with fellow GAR Hall trustee Bob Beal provided a brief overview of the history of the building and some of the artifacts contained therein.
3. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the March 12 and March 15, 2012 meetings were approved by a unanimous vote of the members present.
4. Warrant Articles
Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the AdCom voted unanimously to re-open for consideration Article 7, Disbursements of Electric Light Department Receipts. The AdCom then voted unanimously to increase the amount transferred to the General Fund, as stated in Article 7, from $450,000 to $500,000.
5. Town Meeting Preparations
In anticipation for the upcoming annual town meeting, the AdCom reviewed the warrant articles and discussed such matters as who might speak on behalf of the proponents or opponents of each article and whether it was necessary or desirable for AdCom to present a position on any particular article.
6. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 9:33 PM.
