Call to order
Sandra Peavey called to order the regular meeting of the Hingham CAC at 8:15 pm on 11/30/2009 in Hingham Town Hall.
Roll call
Eric Connerly conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: Eric Dresser, Jim Dellot, Sandra Peavey, Eric Gauthier, Rob Kirk, Amy Goebel and Eric Connerly. Katy Gallagher-Wooley was not present.
Open issues
Government channel staffing
The committee discussed various options to oversee operations for the government channel and agreed to recommend that Kevin Paicos have the final say on whether or not to approve programming and slides for the government channel.
Organization of public channel
Mr. Dresser noted that he had scanned many pages of the recommended organizational documents from the Massachusetts public access television association.
Satellite dish
Ms. Goebel noted that the town needed a c-band satellite dish to access the free programming broadcast by NASA and other organizations for public access in order to preserve the town’s contractual right to a public access channel on the Comcast and Verizon channel lineups. Mr. Dellot noted that an eight foot diameter dish would be required to reliably receive satellite signals. Mr. Dresser agreed to research whether there are any local service providers qualified to install such a dish at town hall.
Government channel supplies
Mr. Connerly proposed, Mr. Dellot seconded and the committee UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED a recommendation to the selectmen to reserve $3,000 of the cable operating funds for supplies for the government channel, including but not limited to DVDs, paper and office supplies.

Ms. Peavey adjourned the meeting at 9:15 pm.
