March 5, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Chairman Andy Mooradian called the meeting to order at 6:33pm in the Town Hall Building.
The Draft of the Meeting Minutes from February 26, 2007 was approved.
Ms. Joyce and Ms. Falvey of the School Parent-Teachers Organization urged the Committee to allocate capital funding for school security as requested by David Killory during the February 26th meeting.
The Committee then turned its attention to the Board of Selectmen’s February 13th request that the Committee prepare a list of recommended budget cuts to obviate the need to draw upon Town Reserves for funding the FY2008 capital plan.
The following list of potential cuts—totaling $123.2K—was approved by the Committee for consideration by the Board of Selectmen and the Advisory Committee:
• $30K for High School Field/Bleacher Plan
• $35K for Police Department Dispatch Command Center consultant
• $20K for DPW Head House repairs
• $23K for Police Department Animal Control Vehicle
• $15.2K for Town Hall Carpeting and Stair-Tread Repair
Should additional budget cuts be necessary, the Committee recommends deferral of the $154K expenditure for Town Hall Auditorium Ceiling Repair.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55pm.
