Energy Action Committee notes
Town Hall, 9-28-09, 1905
Otto Harling, Pam Harty (Pa H), Paul Heanue (PH), Vern Larkin, Tony Morash (guest)
- Pa H called the meeting to order at 1905.
- A discussion was held around last month’s vote to secure an OPM
- A lengthy discussion took place around developing a strategy to get buy in from the School Committee. A decision was made to have someone speak to them and explain benefits. It is believed that without their participation it is unlikely the dollars would be significant enough to attract a contractor.
- VL reminded us that Kevin Paicos thought an industrial grade audit, costing about $100k, would be worthwhile even without our securing or embarking on a performance contract
- OH thought an energy audit of all the town’s buildings would highlight potential savings
- Pa H suggested a Memo be drafted and sent to the School Dept
- OH made a motion that Kevin Paicos, if he felt comfortable and able, make a presentation to the School Dept on the value of performance contracting on 11-23.
PH- 2nd
vote- unanimous
- TM presented a draft of an RFP for our OPM. Discussion about and changes made to proposed document.
- Pa H made motion to accept changes to proposal as discussed and to direct Kevin Paicos to issue per changes
PH: 2nd
vote- unanimous
- Pa H made motion to accept 6-9 and 8-24 meeting minutes as presented
OH: 2nd
vote- unanimous (except for VL, who abstained because of his absence)
- meeting adjourned 2110
