: VL will draft language for application describing why we need an Owner’s Agent
- a discussion was held around potential goals for the committee. there was a lengthy discussion concerning our developing a “wind by-law”. there was not unanimity around that goal. some felt that, drafting by-law, belongs to either the planning or zoning boards and that great efforts would have to be expended with a real possibility of it not getting accepted at town meeting. should it be a priority of our committee? PH mentioned there is a possibility of HMLP partnering on a wind turbine on Turkey Hill and/or at the “dump” in Cohasett- if they ever come to fruition. we were reminded that there were hingham residents who had experience with writing by-laws whose assistance we were told was available. a sub-committee would be formed to further look at drafting a “wind by-law”.
another potential goal discussed was our getting involved with improving the energy efficiency of hingham’s housing stock. another goal, discussed and accepted, was to try to place a regular/periodic story around energy efficiency in the hingham journal. It was thought a 1st story could be around hmlp’s energy audits and light bulbs.
- an email from CoolMass on engaging local citizen’s around energy matters was reviewed and discussed.
- meeting adjourned at 2115.
