Member Updates/Recent Correspondence
Ms. Murphy reported that the Selectmen had voted to create a Harbor Gift Fund to collect funds to support the effort to remove the geese from the Bathing Beach Area. The funds will be used to pay for the services of Judy Saint Clair, who has trained her dog to chase the geese causing them to permanently relocate.
Peter Fee reported that the Bathing Beach had lost approximately $8,000 worth of sand during the recent storms. He went on to report that the Farmer’s Market and Trustees of the Bathing Beach were still working on some sort of Memorandum of Agreement.
Ben Wilcox reported that at the last HDIC meeting Mr. Bonn had reported about the pending Town Meeting article to lease land from the Town in the adjacent Harbor Parking area to provide parking for the slips located at 3 Otis Street. He also noted that the work on Main Street was ongoing, and had to be complete by September 30 in order to use the PWED funds.
The group prepared their strategy for relevant Town Meeting Articles in terms of who would be speaking on behalf of which article.
The next Harbor Task Force Meeting was scheduled for May 12, 2010.
