July 4th, 2010 Information

Event Schedule

Friday, July 2nd

  • Please join the Hingham Lions on Friday July 2 at one of our favorite American traditions, the July 4th Community Celebration including food, music and fireworks display. Starting at 6:30pm, the Hingham 375th committee will present a patriotic themed chorus group; next the music starts; and after sunset, the sky will light up! The Lions have planned a special display this year to commemorate Hingham’s 375th! The Lions motto is WE SERVE! Rain date is July 4th. Questions may be addressed to the event Chair – Richard Lamb, Rich@harborside-financial.com or 781-340-1555

  • Fireworks over Hingham Harbor sponsored by the Hingham Lions Club. Rain date will be Sunday, July 4th

  • Pre-Fireworks Concert - Free concert of patriotic music in honor of our nation and Hingham's 375 years, given by the Hingham 375th Anniversary Choir directed by Dr. Paul Cappers, at the Harbor bandstand prior to the annual fireworks display.

Sunday, July 4th

  • 7:00 AM - Hingham Recreation Commission Road Race - visit the Hingham Recreation Department for registration forms and more information.

  • 7:30 AM - July 4th Pancakes - The Kiwanis & Lions Clubs have joined together to host the 2010 July 4th the pancake breakfast.

The Kiwanis Club is known for “serving the children of the world” through many initiatives. Two notable service projects are the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, a state of the art unit, and Camp Sunshine, Casco, ME, which provides a little respite for children with terminal illnesses. In Hingham, the Kiwanis Club established the tradition of serving hot, delicious pancakes at the Center Common 40 years ago.

The Lions are very excited to have an opportunity to serve alongside such a great organization as Kiwanis and be part of an enduring wonderful community event. Pancakes will be served at the Center Common from 7:30 – 11am. All you can eat: pancakes, sausages, orange juice/coffee $5.00 adults, $3.00 kids (10 and under) and $18.00 family maximum. Military, police and fire personnel eat free!
