After the membership report, Jay McGrail asked the committee members for their questions or comments with regard to the minutes of the April 20, 2010 CCMC meeting. On motion duly made and seconded, the committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the April 20, 2010 meeting.
Following the discussion of the minutes, Jay McGrail and William Friend updated the committee on the status of the pending liquor license transfer application. The update started with a review of the process to date, and then explained the matters remaining to be completed. As part of this report, the Selectmen’s meeting scheduled for later in the day, the two matters to be voted on by the Selectmen at the meeting and the ABCC Form 983 to be signed in connection with the transfer were presented, reviewed and discussed.
Upon conclusion of this discussion, it was agreed that Jay McGrail, Kerry Ryan and William Friend should continue their efforts on behalf the committee, with attorney Bob Orsi, the ABCC, Vitsa Verde Corp. and the town of Hingham to effect the transfer of the liquor license to Vista Verde Corp and to implement the approved expansion of the premises covered by the liquor license. These same individuals (MCGrail, Friend and Ryan) were then again authorized by the committee acting together or individually to negotiate, sign and deliver any and all applications, lease amendments, agreements, ABCC forms and other documents necessary to complete the aforementioned liquor license transfer and premises change request.
Jay McGrail followed the liquor license discussion with a report on an opportunity for the SSCC to assist the town’s Fourth Of July Parade Committee and, at the same time, gain some valuable marketing and public relations exposure with the residents of Hingham. He advised that the Hingham Parade Committee was looking for funding and wanted the SSCC to be a sponsor of the parade. He then explained that this would provide the SSCC with an excellent and timely opportunity to remind everyone of summer activities and services available at the SSCC. After discussion, it was agreed by the committee that Jay McGrail and Terry Clarke be authorized to work with the Parade Committee on a sponsorship arrangement that would suit the marketing needs of the SSCC and, if satisfied, to agree to the expenditure of the funds associated with the sponsorship arrangement.
Jay McGrail, with the assistance of Paul Casey, then provided the committee with an updated financial report that included revenue and expenditure projections for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010. Following a detailed review of the actual to date financial information and year-end projections, on motion duly made and seconded, the committee voted to adjourn the meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
William K Friend
