The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P. M. by Jean Montgomery, chairman pro tem. Present were Greg Hall and Carolyn Kelliher. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Jean reported on why Newton had chosen the income figures for their program. They had used 80% of the standard median income for the Boston area from the Housing Urban
Development Department. After discussion the committee decided to use the same percentage for the Boston, Cambridge Quincy Area for 2009.
As to domicile values, Jean reported that Lane Partidge suggested we use 2010 assessed values.
It was decided that applications for the taxation aid will be returned to the Treasurer not the Assessors which receive other exemption applications.
Jean presented a draft press release for discussion. It was decided to make mention of Burton Grille's substantial contribution to the fund. The Committee approved the application, guidelines and press release.
The next meeting is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. on April 20th. Lane Partridge will be invited to attend.
At 4:40 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
