November 3, 2010 at Estuary Center
1. Meeting began at 7:35 P.M.
Present: Dick Avery (Cohasset Co-Chair) scribe
Faith Burbank (Hingham Co-Chair)
Amy May (Hull )
Absent: Charlie Higginson (Cohasset)
Jim Rodgers (Hingham)
Judeth Van Hamm (Hull Co-Chair)
Scott Plympton (Hull)
2. With so few in attendance, meeting was an informal discussion of needs to be dealt with rather than following prior agenda.
3. Membership replacements may be forthcoming:
a. Faith Burbank would like to be replaced after 8 years representing
Hingham. She will look at the Hingham Town Job Bank for a possible
volunteer. The Harbor Development Committee may be another source. Faith is a liaison with many Hingham boards -- Planning, Conservation,
ZBA, Selectmen, CZM: Jason Burtner, DCR: Liz Sorensen, Jim Comeau,
b. Jim Rodgers' variable health makes it hard for him to participate currently.
c. Judeth Van Hamm should be asked if she would like also to be replaced
as co-chair since so many other responsibilities are spreading thin her
available time.
d. This should be an agenda item for December.
4. Discussion of what 3 members present would like to see accomplished over next
year:
a. Dick - - Cohesiveness on a vision for the Park
b. Faith - - Pick up protection for last Hingham parcels, realization of Rockland Street Bridge Project, a resolution to Foundry Pond, and coordination of harbor management resources.
c. Amy - - Management Plan for the Weir River Estuary using her strengths and experience in connecting communities
5. Agenda for December WREP Committee meeting
a. Committee membership and roles for additional members in 2011
b. Start to outline an ECAC Management Plan for the estuary park as prep for a Forum in March 2011 to review such plan
---> Each WREP member should draw up a tentative outline to share at
the December meeting
---> Base outlines upon the 2004 ACEC guidelines that Faith circulated
a few months ago
c. Get specific event updates for key items on the Activity Matrix
d. Set up meeting schedule for 2011
