Minutes- Board of Assessors Meeting, July 11, 2011
Meeting called to order at 8:40 AM
In attendance Greg Hall, Mark Tyburski, Mike Shaughnessy and Rick Nowlan
Invoices and warrants signed
Minutes from the 6/27/2011 Board meeting were reviewed and approved.
Rick Nowlan updated the Board on the progress of the Vision conversion and revaluation. Vision is on schedule.
Discussion about integration of GIS into new Vision system. Cost to set up is $3,000 a onetime fee. Board wanted to review other vision sites with GIS. Rick Nowlan called Vision, obtained information on towns that have GIS integrated and also found out that Vision is working on a new version and will send us the link later this week. The Board will review the information and discuss again at the next meeting
Rick Nowlan attempted to contact the owner of Black Rock Golf course to discuss the 2012 valuation, etc, but the owner has not returned Ricks phone calls.
There was a general discussion on Linden Ponds and the option of obtaining an appraisal. Ted Alexiades, the town administrator, believes it would be a good idea to get an appraisal for Linden Ponds. Mark Tyburski questions if this is best option. Rick Nowlan will invite Ted Alexiades to the next meeting to discuss this issue.
Rick Nowlan brought forward an offer from Attorney Wulsin for the ATb case at 19 Main Street. The board discussed the issue. The Board believes that using the figures provide by Attorney Wulsion would support the present 2010 and 2011 assessments, but the Board made a counter offer.
Rick Nowlan mentioned that Dave Basler is looking for the required test form and summary sheet for the Conflict of interest law. Rick Nowlan is waiting on the forms from Mark Tyburski. Ted Alexiades mentioned at the last department heads meeting that it is imperative that the forms be returned. Rick Nowlan will resend the link to Mark and that Mark will bring the forms to the next meeting
Motion made by Greg and seconded by Mark to adjourn the meeting at 9:30am and to meet again July 18, 2011 at 8:40 AM. The meeting and the agenda will be posted in compliance with state law.
