Town's Concerns
Record drawing for force main and manuals are still outstanding. Manhole cover is offset and needs to be realigned prior to final paving. David Polcari of CDM presented a letter on excessive infiltration at North and Central Street. There is a sag in the sewer pipe in North Street that needs to be addressed. CBB has proposed a settlement to the Sewer Department. The parties are close to a settlement. CDM reviewed settlement and proposed an alternative amount. The letter has been approved by the MBTA.
The Town has approved the Town Brook siphon alternative. The Town engineer approved a 36" design. A letter requesting the alternative has been sent to the MBTA. The siphon work has started.
The Town has provided an estimate for North Street paving. The Town requests an executed MOU from CBB. There is still a disagreement on the Contractor's responsibilities. Kevin McRea will present estimate to upper management. Mr. Doyle has tentatively approved the MOU.
Punch list continues. Major items remaining are largely related to sewer work. There is agreement by all parties on the outstanding issues.
Cliff Prentiss has produced a shop drawing for a gate design for the Town Brook to show DEP. Drawing prepared and has been provided to CBB. The Town has made a formal request to the MBTA.
The Town raised the concern about the amount of dewatering going on in the boat sections. No change.
The Town raised a concern about waterproofing of the tunnel.
The Town Fire Department is looking to do some training in the tunnel. Some training took place on February 2. Group exercises have begun.
