Moorings

All vessels moored in Hingham's Waterways are required to have a mooring permit issued by the Harbormaster which is valid for the calendar year. Moorings are regulated by the Mooring Regulations which govern the process from apllication to the mooring tackle requirments.

Transient Vessels

The Harbormaster has transient moorings for rent in the Inner Harbor Mooring Basin and in Worlds End Mooring Area. The moorings are $35.00/day. Only checks and money orders accepted and the moorings fill quickly especially on holidays and weekends. Please call or email to secure a reservation.

The Inner Harbor Mooring Basin is located walking distance from Downtown Hingham. Boaters can find provisioning, shopping, dinning, and entertainment.

Inner Harbor Mooring Basin

There are 231 moorings located in the Inner Harbor, all these moorings are managed by the Harbormaster. Mooring permit vacancies are fill from the waiting list managed by the Town Clerk.

Hingham has a mooring plan which makes efficient use of the mooring area.

To identify your mooring location, match your mooring permit number with the mooring number on the mooring plan.

Each mooring shall have a mooring inspection completed ny the Mooring Service/Inspector and it shall be submitted to the Harbormaster upon his request. This is to help ensure the the moorings are built to meet the criteria of this mooring area.

Outer Harbor Mooring Area (Hingham Yacht Club Area)

A new mooring plan will be implemented this spring 2011 in the Outer Harbor Mooring Area commonly refered to as the Hingham Yacht Club Mooring Area. A mooring plan is in effect and the Harbormaster is assigning vessels a location. All permit owners will be required to use a mooring service provider. There are 4 providers that work in Hingham Waterways. as a permit owner your free to choose whoever best suits your needs.

Outer Harbor Mooring Plan

All unpermited moorings will be removed by the Harbormaster at the owners expense by June 1, 2011.



Worlds End Mooring Area

There are 41 moorings located in Worlds End also know as "The Gunk Hole", these mooring are managed by the Harbormaster. Mooring permit vacancies are filled from the waiting list managed by the Town Clerk. This is a transient mooring area. The Harbormaster has 4 moorings for transient rental.

All unpermited moorings will be removed by the Harbormaster at the owners expense.

The above listed Mooring Service/Inspectors are qualified and authorized by the Harbormaster to service and inspect moorings in the Hingham Waterways for the mooring areas as indicated.
