Call to Order: 7:05p.m.

Members Present: Jones, Thorne, Campbell, Dolan and Bosworth
Chairman Jones welcomed the new commissioner of the Recreation Commission Commissioner Tory Dolan
Acceptance of Minutes: 04/02/2009 Minutes were reviewed and accepted unanimously. Bosworth/Keyes

Open Forum: None

New Business:
Motion by Chairman Jones: to suspend the regular order of business for the nomination and election of Recreation Commission Officers
2nd by Commissioner Bosworth
Passed: Unanimous
Nomination: Scott Bosworth for Chairman by Commissioner Jones
No further nominations, nominations closed
Nomination: Bud Thorne for Vice Chairman by Commissioner Bosworth
No further nominations, nominations closed
Nomination: Frank Jones for Secretary by Commissioner Bosworth
No further nominations, nominations closed
Motion by Chairman Jones: to vote to approve the new slate of officers
2nd by Commissioner Thorne
Passed: Unanimous
Commissioner Jones thanked the members of the Commission for the hard work and cooperation for the past two years that he was Chairman.
Chairman Bosworth assumed the position as Chairman thanking the members of the Commission for their support.
Motion by Chairman Bosworth: to return to the regular order of business
2nd by Commissioner Jones
Passed Unanimous

Directors Report; Please see attached
Director Thorell discussed parts of his monthly report Hersey Field playground should be installed within the next 4 to 6 weeks.
Discussion on Recreation Software any action was tabled to June meeting

New Business: none

Old Business: - Friends of Hingham Recreation: The Commission discussed the continuation of the FHR and the need to re-register the organization as a Single Purpose Entity 501(c) 3 group with the Secretary of State.
Committee Reports

Road Race: Chairman Bosworth reported on the Committees’ progress
Discussion on fees to be charged
$18.00 prior to day of the race
$20.00 day of the race
Discussion on the possible cost associated with the race
Question was raised as to fact if the road race was approved by the Selectman’s Office Director Thorell stated he has letter of approval in hand

Recreation Wagon: Commissioner Thorne briefed the Commission on the progress of the Rec. Wagon and suggestions to make it more successful.
