Call to Order: 7:03 p.m.
Members Present: Jones, Thorne, Campbell, Dolan and Bosworth
Acceptance of Minutes: Motion by Jones to accept
2nd by Thorne
Passed: Unanimous
Open Forum: Through the Advisory Committee Selectwoman Laura Burns expressed her pleasure with summer program brochure.
Old Business
1. Administrative Secretary Position
a. Human Resources agreed to an in-house promotion of Recreation employee (Personnel and Advisory Boards approved)
2. Recreation Software
a. support for active members to view power point
New Business
1. Bylaws Rules and Roles
a. Committee Member Campbell requested Rules and Roles implemented and to work as a group.
b. Committee Member Dolan stated that guidelines would be needed.
2. Community Outreach Committee Member Campbell suggestion of
a. summer camp comment page for campers and parents
b. suggestion box placed in Town Hall
3. Committee Member Campbell requested a playing field summit with all sport organizations
in town. Chairman Bosworth informed him this was already planned for the fall.
a. There was discussion on Bare Cove Park fields and whose control the Selectmen would place the field with
Directors Report (Please see attached)
Discussion on rates for personal trainers. Commissioner Dolan recused herself from all discussions.
Motion by Commissioner Campbell to raise the hourly fee from $40 per hour to $50 per hour with Recreation receiving $10 and trainer $40
After discussion, motion withdrawn and matter tabled until July meeting.
Motion by Commissioner Jones to purchase new Smith machine for fitness room.
2nd by Chairman Bosworth
Commissioner Dolan recused herself. Motion passed. 4-0-1 with Commissioner Dolan recused.
Motion by Commissioner Thorne to purchase a tent for Recreation Department.
2nd by Commissioner Dolan

Committee Reports
Road Race
Chairman Bosworth reports things are on track and going well.
Recreation Wagon
Commissioner Thorne reports things are going well. Rec. Wagon is generating a profit.
Hingham Youth Lacrosse-Mark Giarrusso
1. Request to put up 20’ poles behind goal nets for safety reason. Nets will be detachable and are the responsibility of HYL. This will be a no cost item to Hingham Recreation.
Motion by Commissioner Thorne to allow Hingham Youth Lacrosse to erect 20’ poles and attach netting. Mr. Giarrusso will check with Building Department for any permits or variances that may be needed prior to beginning work.
