Sewer Commission Meeting
Monday, March 2, 2009
8:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 8:06 p.m. Chairman Salerno and Commissioner Spath were in attendance.
• Review and vote on Minutes of the January 16, 2009 meeting.
The Commissioners reviewed the Minutes of the last Commission meeting and it was moved, seconded, and voted unanimously to accept them as presented.
• Review and vote on three Warrant Articles
The Commissioners then reviewed Article 43 for the 2009 Town Meeting Warrant. This article deals with rescinding a previously approved debt authorization to allow borrowing for the Mill Street Station rehabilitation. As that project is being funded by the department’s Connection Fee account, the borrowing is unnecessary.
It was moved, seconded, and voted unanimously to accept the Article language.
The next article to be reviewed was Article 41 which deals with the extension of the sewer main in the portion of Central Street, located within the North Sewer District, between South and Elm Streets.
It was moved, seconded, and voted unanimously to accept the Article language.
The final article to be reviewed was number 42 which authorizes the construction of an extension of the sewer main in a section of Thaxter Street between numbers 37and 53. Both this project and the Central Street project will be paid for by 20-year betterments on affected properties.
It was moved, seconded, and voted unanimously to accept the Article language.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 p.m. No further meeting has yet been scheduled.
